Job Description

Software Test Engineer for the IRES C2BMC Labs and Warfighters (CLAW) support organization at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever AFB. Responsible for performing Test Control activities focused on the configuration and operation of a wide range of test stimulus and monitoring tools, to include a major Linux-based simulation system and various tactical message injection and monitoring systems (both Windows and UNIX based). Activity will include the development of software libraries and tools to support message recording, playback and data manipulation. Candidate must be able to quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines, have a strong commitment to a team environment, demonstrate the capacity to work unsupervised and be willing to learn new technologies. Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and resources to meet high-demand objectives.

Primary duty hours fall within core support hours of 0600-1800, Monday Friday as scheduled, but will periodically work night, weekend and extended hours as dictated by a team rotating schedule to support customer requirements, troubleshooting, testing, and event support. Duties may include occasional travel.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Experience programming in Java, Shell script and Perl script in the Windows and Linux environment
  • Experience troubleshooting code and script
  • Experience troubleshooting workstation and server configurations
  • Experience with IP networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Candidate can start with a DoD Secret clearance but must acquire DoD Top Secret clearance upon selection and acceptance.


  • Experience with ballistic missile defense operations and interconnectivity, theater, midcourse, and terminal missile defense, and war gaming laboratories and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of strategic and theater missile defense weapon systems, sensor systems, tactical communications, and BMC2/Comm Environments.
  • Familiarity with tactical message formats.
  • Knowledge of DoD communications systems, and networks/protocols.
  • Knowledge of test planning and test conduct within laboratory environment.
